WISCONSIN TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL AND JOBS

MILE MARKER #32

If you are an interested person that wants to start a truck driving career based out of Wisconsin, this blog will provide you with a reliable truck driving school and an excellent trucking company to get you started. I have guided and provided a few people with this process of getting started in my area, and they all are on their way to a new career in trucking. There are a lot of choices for trucking companies in the state of Wisconsin, but this has been a reputable company since 1962, and one that I am very familiar with. 23 years ago, I started my career with this same company, and heard very good things about them ever since. Instead of listing the details of the school and what this company has to offer, I am going to give a brief summary and the websites of both. These are both great websites and will tell you everything in detail on how to get started.

The first step is getting enrolled in a truck driving school. Financing is available, and usually the tuition is reimbursed when you sign on to drive for the company listed below for a contracted period of time. This school will provide graduates with the needed endorsements, licensing permits, and driving test to obtain your very own Commercial Driver's License. Schooling will also include classroom and hands-on training such as: backing, hooking and unhooking, pre-trip inspections, and highway and city driving.

You can get all the information you need at http://www.truck-school.com/
You can contact them from their website or you can call toll-free 1800-332-7364
This particular Diesel Driving School is located in Sun Prairie, Wi

After completing the school, you are now ready to get hired on with a trucking company.

I am going to recommend ROEHL TRANS for your first company coming fresh out of school. The company is located at 1916 East 29th Street in Marshfield, Wi
Roehl's website is http://www.goroehl.com/ This website is easy to navigate and provides all of the information you'll need. You can also contact them at 1800-467-6345 or e-mail them at roehl.drivers@roehl.net

You will most likely be assigned to a driver/trainer for some additional paid training before getting your own personal truck. They will train you the way their company operates and this extra training will provide you with driving confidence. The driver/trainer will cut you loose when he or she feels you are ready to go trucking on your own.

If you are an experienced driver and ready to make a change, Roehl Trans offers a $3000.00 sign on bonus.

For additional information and what to expect in the trucking field, please go to the archives and read Mile Markers #1 thru about #7.

Good luck to you, and I hope this helps you get rolling into your new career.

TAXED 2 DEATH

MILE MARKER #31
The Nation's infrastructure issues are a hot topic lately, concerning the billions of dollars needed for roads and bridges. States are in desperate need for these funds for fixing or rebuilding these structures, and they want it now..... The big question is "Where is all this money going to come from?" Their answer is raising either road taxes, fuel taxes, or State taxes. Where is all the money that was collected for these repairs? Independent truckers and trucking companies have payed their fair share of taxes to fix these problems, and then some. The trucking industry is at the point of being tapped out! R2T votes for the raising of State taxes. Enough is enough with the Fuel and Road Taxes. The States, Cities, and Towns are all guilty of moving collected money around to balance their budgets. Now, it's this big crisis to come up with the money for these much needed repairs.
The toll passes like the I-Pass or Pike-Pass , or which ever one it is, requires a minimum balance in the person's account. This minimum balance may be $100.00 or $150.00. That is a lot of money just in that account, let alone the interest they are collecting from these funds. Where does all the interest go? Some toll roads are actually leased out to Foreigners. For example, the Indiana Toll Road is leased. Ever since the leasing of toll roads began, the Rest Area bathrooms have become unbearable. When the toll road was ran by the State, everything was pretty much clean and respectable. The Foreigners don't run these roads, they just collect the money.
It costs $50.00 just for each truck to cross over the "Legally Condemned" George Washington bridge in New York. When you are at a stand still on the upper tier, take a rough count of how many trucks you are sitting there with, and figure that it's $50.00 dollars each just in big trucks.
These add up to amazing figures per day in tolls, and you can feel the bridge sway back and forth like you're in a canoe at sea.
Some people are forced to move because of high taxes. Families are getting taxed right out of their homes and jobs. If the Nation is going to continue in the direction it is going, it won't take long before the Middle Class is eliminated.
If you do not recognize the bridge in the picture above, it's because it's the largest bridge in the World, and is located in France.

THE CHROME GODDESS

MILE MARKER #30

You've seen her before, the Pamela Anderson of chrome accessories, attached to mudflaps and truck exteriors. She is stout and proud to be a part of a trucker's life. She doesn't have a name, but just sits there with great posture and poise. I've gawked at her here and there on other trucks, but never claimed ownership of one of these chromed icons in trucking. Deep down inside, I always thought that she was out of my league. I said it..........

R2T has discovered that she has jumped shark, and ventured out into uncharted territory.

We know she will be in good hands. I just hope she always remembers where she came from. We wish her and the military the best , and we thank all of the Men and Women of the Armed Forces for defending our wonderful Country!

WHAT HE SAY?

MILE MARKER #29

The American Press has recently reported on the new rule that anyone driving a commercial vehicle be required to speak understandable English. The Federal Government is trying to tighten this requirement. The rapid concern is needed for safety reasons. Until now, I guess I was unaware that there was any law dealing with this topic, but authorities issued 25,230 citations for this violation last year. It comes down to truck drivers needing to be able to clearly communicate with authorities about their loads and trucks. Out of 3.4 million truck drivers, 17% are Hispanic. The Spanish to English transition can be difficult, but learning the English language is a small courtesy or requirement to be able to live the American Dream. Personally, I have picked up and delivered to many businesses where I was left feeling that I needed to learn Spanish. I have a bad memory, but then I remembered where I was. AMERICA! We welcome everyone into the trucking field with open arms, but all of us required to speak fluent English is a good direction towards communication and safety issues within our field.
As of now, there are seven states that have English-only testing for CDLs. Wyoming, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Maine, Oregon, South Dakota, and Missouri.
Hats off to the Federal Government for dealing with this issue...Gracious!
